Heart Cake

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I LOVE this recipe. Of course, the cake’s heart shape symbolizes love. But what I really love about this cake is how easy and foolproof it is to make. Yes, for once, I didn’t destroy the cake during assembly.

Supplies

  • 9 in. round cake pan
  • 9 in. square cake or brownie pan
  • 1 box of cake mix (Wait?! You didn’t think I was actually making this from scratch? I said foolproof.)
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 1 can of frosting

Directions

  • Follow the cake mixing and baking directions on the back of the box.
  • Once cooled, cut the round cake in half with a serrated knife.
  • Turn the square cake to resemble a diamond. Add each half of the round cake to two sides by applying icing between the cakes.
  • Cover with frosting and decorate.

Enjoy!

I left a career in TV news for more time with my two pint-sized blessings and to become a blessing to someone else. It's our messy, beautiful journey.
