The princesses, pirates, parades seem to be a part of a dream in a distant magical land, not a quick plane ride to Orlando, Florida one month ago. Even after our sixth family trip with both girls, I’m still dazzled, delighted by all of our new discoveries made at Walt Disney World. Most magical part of this trip- our early breakfast reservation inside the Magic Kingdom.
Make Reservations Early, 180 Days Early
Our trips are often made a month or two in advance, so we’ve never had the chance to make dining reservations 180 days out. Yes, six months sounds crazy. But plenty of people are ready to call the moment their window opens. Reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest go fast, especially early morning ones.
Still Expect to Wait and a Crowd
We finally scored a table at Be Our Guest about an hour before the park opened. We didn’t expect to be the only ones, nor did we expect to have the park to ourselves. However, we never expected to be waiting outside the gate with several other people until our reservation opened. I didn’t anticipate areas to be roped off and frequent reservation check points or even the wait at the packed restaurant. But I would do it again.
Take Pictures in front of Castle
Disney photographers are there, ready to take your picture. It is possible to get a few shots outside Cinderella’s castle without tourists walking behind you. The best spots? Walk to the left side of the castle. The bridge going to Liberty Square is a great spot for taller children or families holding little ones. (The railing, not castle, will be the backdrop for smaller children.) You can also stop along the walkway between the bridge and Fantasyland. This was our favorite! You get a side view of the castle but NO ONE is behind you. Pictures of little girls in princess dresses in front of the castle are priceless!
Bypass the Line for a Ride (or Two!)
The restaurant also put us in a prime spot to see some princesses at FairyTale Hall without a long wait. As long as you don’t linger, an early breakfast means you can hop on at least a ride or two without a wait.
Oh, and breakfast at Be Our Guest? Magnifique! Everything from the eggs to charcuterie plate to french toast to pastries was perfection. We will be frequent guests.
